2010 Macbook Air

Apple Inc. , previously Apple Computer Inc. , was established on April 1st 1976 in California by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak , and Ronald Wayne . Throughout the company’s existence , Apple came out with various innovating computer technologies and designs , but I think we can all agree on the fact that the most successful product , that made the company what it is today , was the iPod . The iPod announced the beginning of a new era in the IT & Electronics domain . The era of small and cool gadgets ; the smaller , the cooler . The appearance of iPod made the white color one of the coolest .

Following the philosophy of cool design and easy to use products , Apple launched the Macbook Air generation on January 15, 2008 , being the thinnest notebook in the world .

With a 13.3″ display and aluminumnibody enclosure , the first generation of Macbook Air had a custom Intel Merom CPU and Intel GMA graphics . This configuration was updated in the late 2008 with a faster non-custom Penryn CPU and Nvidia GeForce graphics .

The 2010 Macbook Air was launched on October 20th .

The 2010 Macbook Air generation comes in two models . The first one has a 13.3″ display with a higher resolution than the 2008 model , a lighter enclosure , a SSD of 128GB or 256GB instead of a hard disk and longer battery life , up to 7 hours or 30 day in standby . The performances of this model are offered by a 1.86GHz or 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and 2GB DDR3 SDRAM . This model also has a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory that offers a resolution up to 1440 by 900 (native) .

The second model has a 11.6″ display . It is , basically , a reduced costs , battery life , weight and performance version of the 13.3″ model , but still offers better performance than a normal laptop .

According to www.apple.com website , the 11.6″ model has a 1.4GHz or 1.6GHZ(optional) Intel Core 2 Duo CPU , 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM with a maximum of 4 GB like the 13.3″ model . The old hard disk was also replaced with a 64GB or 128GB SSD unit and , like the 13.3″ model , has a NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory and a resolution of 1366 by 768 (native) . The battery life for this model is up to 5 hours or 30 days standby time .

Both Macbook Air models have a high-resolution LED-backlit glossy widescreen display with support for millions of colors , SD card reader , USB2 ports , mini-display port , MagSafe , microphone and headphone jack .  The communications are assured by AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) wireless technology . Apple also sells separately an Apple USB Ethernet Adapter . Both models come with Mac OS X Snow Leopard installed .
