15 Inch Macbook Pro Battery

Since January 6, 2006 , the date that the first model of Macbook Pro was launched , Apple made wave after wave on the market , year by year , with every new model of its professional notebook , the Macbook Pro . With every new model of Macbook Pro , Apple introduced to the market new technology innovations , new performance and new ideas . Combined with one of the best and most beautiful operating systems , the Mac OS X , Apple made from the Macbook Pro one of the most wanted notebooks in the world . But to better understand the Macbook Pro , let’s have a look at its evolution through the years that passed since 2006 when the first 15 inch Macbook Pro was launched .

The first Macbook Pro in the history had a 15.4-inch, matte or glossy, LCD with a maximum resolution of 1,440 × 900. The graphics for this display were offered by the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 128MB or 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM . For the processor , Apple made a rather curious choice when they equipped the Macbook Pro with an Intel Core Duo and DDR3 SDRAM memory that was expandable only to a maximum of 2GB. The storage devices for this notebook were a 80GB, 100GB, or 120GB serial ATA, 5,400-rpm with optional 100GB , 7,200-rpm and 120GB at 5,400-rpm. The optical unit on the Macbook Pro was a combo drive DVD reader/CD reader/CD recorder . Apple offered as optional though the SuperDrive : 8× DVD-DL discs reads, 4x DVD+/-R & RW recording, 24× CD-R and 10× CD-RW recording. For communication , the notebook had an integrated wireless network card , bluetooth and an Ethernet port.  But all this performance without a good battery would have been nothing. The 15 Inch Macbook Pro Battery was a 60-watt-hour removable lithium-polymer battery that offered a lifetime of up to 5 hours .

If we compare the January 2006 15″ Macbook Pro model to the latest 2010 15″ Macbook Pro model , we can see that a lot has changed in the Macbook Pro , showing how much the technology has evolved in just 4 years .

The new 15″ Macbook Pro hasa 15.4″, glossy glass covered screen, 1,440 × 900 LED-backlit widescreen display ans is now equipped with an 2.4 GHz (520M)  or 2.53 GHz (540M) Intel Core i5 Arrandale with 3 MB on-chip L3 cache , or 2.66 GHz (620M) Intel Core i7 Arrandale . The graphics on the screen are not provided anymore by an ATI graphic card , its place being taken by an Intel HD Graphics with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory and Nvidia GeForce GT 330M with 256MB or 512MB of GDDR3 SDRAM , the operating system switching automatically between the two . The 4GB DDR3 SDRAM , expandable to 8GB , make from the notebook , a really fast one . When comming to storage , you have a lot of options . You can have a 250GB, 320GB, or 500GB serial ATA at 5,400-rpm or 320GB , 500GB at 7,200-rpm hard disks or 128GB , 256GB, or 512GB solid-state disk. The new model has integrated wireless card , bluetooth, Ethernet port, FireWire 800 and SD card slot . The 15 Inch Macbook Pro Battery is a 77.5-watt-hour non-removable lithium-polymer that offers a lifetime of up to 10 hours .

We can see that the difference between the two notebooks are pretty big and show us very well the evolution of technology in just 4 years .11
